SIWES TRAINING PROGRAM RULES

All SIWES students undergoing industrial training are hereby strongly warned to take note of the following rules and comply strictly:

Behaviour & Conduct

  1. Every trainee must maintain good behaviour, discipline, and respect toward instructors, supervisors, fellow trainees, and visitors.
  2. Fighting, insulting language, bullying, stealing, or any form of misconduct will not be tolerated.
  3. Use of phones, social media, or non-training activities during training hours is strictly prohibited unless permitted.
  4. Any student found engaging in unprofessional or immoral behaviour will face disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of training.

Seriousness & Commitment

  1. SIWES training is not a formality; it is a mandatory and serious industrial program.
  2. Trainees must attend all scheduled training sessions punctually and consistently.
  3. Unauthorized absence or lateness must be reported in advance to the training supervisor.
  4. Absenteeism, laziness, or lack of interest will be reported and may affect final SIWES assessment and approval.
  5. Students are expected to show eagerness to learn, ask questions, and follow instructions carefully, especially when handling electronic tools and computer systems.

Training Materials & Tools
  1. All trainees are required to purchase and come with approved training materials for electronics and computer practicals.
  2. Failure to provide required tools or materials may limit participation in practical sessions.
  3. Training materials are essential for:
      • Electronics repairs and circuit practicals
      • Computer hardware and software training
      • Safety during practical work
  4. Borrowing tools excessively or damaging equipment due to carelessness will attract penalties.
Safety & Responsibility
  1. Safety rules must be obeyed at all times, especially when handling electrical equipment, soldering tools, power supplies, and computer hardware.
  2. Any damage caused by negligence or misuse of equipment will be paid for by the trainee involved.

Disciplinary Measures
  1. Failure to comply with these rules may result in:
      • Verbal or written warning
      • Suspension from training
      • Termination of SIWES placement
      • Negative report to the school or SIWES coordinator
